Hi there...

I'm Laxman Soni

About Me

At my core, I'm a learner. I'm curious about life and the world works. Everyday, I take some time to reflect on my values and beliefs. I call these my why's and these why's dictate my actions and decision for the day. Currently, I believe that the best way for me to make impact is through development, which is why I founded Sofy - an app that humanizes how humans learn.

I'm also exploring other ways to create impact, such as through gym-related content creation, Medium articles, and freelance coding.

When I'm not on the screen, I like to read, cook, lift weights, talk with friends, sit in the sun, play guitar, and just, learn.

Here is what I have

been working on

Co-Founder

Sofy

An app that helps you live better - reconnect with your curiosity and will to power. We humanize learning by making it actionable, meaningful, and delightful.

I am the Co-Founder and the Lead Developer in our small, 5-person team. Now that we have developed and launched the app, we're now focusing on marketing and getting the app out to more users.

Software Engineering Intern

Uber

I joined the Uber Pass team, where I worked on multiple internal tools built in React. My work helped save them a ton of time and prevented human error.

Towards the end, I worked on localizations for their new pass, coding mostly in GoLang. I played a key role in launching it in Brazil (including pressing the 'launch' button!)

Supertokens

Supertokens is an all-in-one solution for managing auth tokens and login logic. It implements a more secure token refreshing algorithm than other solutions on the market.

I was part of the team when they were an early stage startup, which allowed me to get a ton of experience with different tasks, stacks, and technologies. I got my hands on Java Spring and Node.js, along with database systems such as Reids, ElasticSearch, and MongoDB.

Hackathons

I am an avid hacker, and took every opportunity I found to go to hackathons in my early college years. After my first no-sleep, 48 hour hackathon in Harvard, I was hooked. I won my first award at YHack 2018, followed by the Brown Datathon 2019 and then Hack@Home in 2020
